World Food Law Institute Round Table Event
Time & Location
Jun 25, 2020, 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Virtual Event
About the event
The public is aware of and horrified by the destruction and loss of products from harvest, slaughter and catch as the food chain abruptly realigns in response to the Corona virus. We are less aware of new initiatives, models and technologies that guide potentially unused farm products into the food chain or into a different productive utilization. The speakers and discussion at this Round Table will present multilateral, national, private sector and NGO initiatives that respond to the challenges of mitigating food loss and that support the farmers and rural communities producing the foods, such as through IFAD’s Rural Poor Stimulus Facility.
Please join the experts and invited guests for this off-the-record virtual discussion on Zoom. Participants will gain new perspectives and learn about creative ideas and technological developments that may be useful in small and larger communities as the world continues to address the effects of the Coronavirus on the food chain and on food security.
