About the event
The World Food Law Institute is pleased to invite you to the 2019 World Food Law Lecture. IFAD's General Counsel, Katherine Meighan, will present IFAD’s experiences and legal innovations in addressing the causes of food insecurity in developing countries across the globe. An international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency, IFAD has invested in rural people for over 40 years, empowering them to reduce poverty, increase food security, improve nutrition and strengthen resilience. In her lecture, Ms. Meighan will describe the growing global concerns on food insecurity, as well as legal breakthroughs used by IFAD to help end hunger as envisioned by the Sustainable Development Goal 2.
